happy chinese new year!

My favourite holiday is here! 5 days of bliss... =)))) I'm smiling from ear to ear!

We went Korea style for this year's steamboat! We fed each other the lettuce wrapped meat! It was hilarious.. we were all too busy stuffing our mouths to take pix thou.. but it was a lovely time for family gathering =D

Then, there was blackjack21, poker, mahjong, jiimrami.. games night went on forever, n my pocket became fuller thereafter... heee... love CNY!

Movie marathon! 5 Chinese movies later, 1 basket load of ironing got itself ironed! woohoo! New clothes for new year! Supa proud of myself can! So today's hot recommendation is...

新少林寺

Andy Lau was a militarist who ruled with an iron fist. The higher one climbs up the rank, the lonelier one becomes, the more suspicious one becomes. Thus led to his downfall, and the lost of his family. He sought refuge with Shaolin temple and from there he began a journey of renewed enlightenment. A very meaty performance by Andy Lau - convincingly agonised.

Nicholas Tse on the other hand plays out the "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" role in the film. He's sufficient in his portrayal, but next to Andy Lau, he appears less of a man's man.

Jackie Chan, the comic relief for the show. I prefer him this way than in the painful New Police story. I love what he does with the wok. haa..

Watch this show! The action is explosive and not a blur. The storyline is meaty with well fleshed out characters. This will keep you entertained for the entire run. The only gripe is that there is too much carnage and collateral damage for CNY.
