Like Crazy

A short post before I fly off into the sunset again =)

Recently watched LIKE CRAZY.
Not a usual film I would pick up.

But it got me hooked... watching the characters fall in love like crazy, and the roller coaster ride of a relationship they went into as they met obstacles along the way. The shift in perspectives to love as situation change, people change, but yet the love remains. A love that you can't do without as it tugs you every time you are apart, yet a love that is fraught with difficulties and problems when you are together. Do you for let go of that love knowing that you can never let it go? Or do you hold on to it, knowing that it has been scarred many times over?

I wouldn't say it's a very very deep art house film that leave you scratching your head and wondering what the heck did I spend 2 hours on.. it's more a look at love from different angles. And seeing how the characters grow. The leads are marvellous in getting through the passage of times, and there is a clear shift in the subtle emotion undercurrent. And somehow Felicity Jones remains me of Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger games), but much prettier and endearing. Coincidentally, Jennifer acted in this show too as a blond, almost unrecognisable though.

Like Crazy garnered a Grand Jury Prize in the dramatic film category of 27th Sundance Film Festival in January 2011 and Jones won a Special Grand Jury Prize for her portrayal of Anna.
