Ted

Haven't done a movie review in a very long time.  Been watching too much TV shows. I totally love Bones, White Collar, Drop Dead Diva, Lie to Me, Nikita, Alcatraz and Running Men... and more... hee

Ted, a top-grossing film in US is making its way here this week! Starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.

A slapstick comedy based on a teddy bear that came to life after a childhood wish for companionship. A talking teddy bear friend is fine and cool when you are 8 years old, but when you are in your 35 and with a 4-year girlfriend in toll, it becomes more of a hinder.

If you are a fan of Family Guy, this is probably your cup of tea. With a huge dose of brutally honest and crude jokes, you'll either slap the thighs laughing, or give a quizzed "What?". I watched this with huge anticipation for funny jokes -- crude but punchy, yet I didn't find it really funny. Its target audience is the definitely the typical grown adult male who is grappling with job and girlfriend issues, yet who has this lingering sentiment for the childhood fun and games. The movie goes through a series of Flash Gordon revival   ( which I didn't get as well), emotional upheaval, sentimental partings between Ted, Mark and Mila, sexual innuendos, kidnapping, car chases and happily ever afters. There was a lot going on.
Ted looked really real, and his eyebrows are so cute. But in the movie, he is as far from cute as possible. Brutally rude, in-you-face, crude, sarcastic, etc, you name it, and he is it. Hugely anticipated by everyone, but jokes fell kinda flat to me. But I've heard good reviews, so give it a shot if you've time.
