The Lucky One

Based on Nicolas Sparks' novel, you can expect it to be a romantic flick of love, lost love and heart break

Zac Efron played a maine who just came out of war, having escape death numerous times after he picked up a photo of a girl (Taylor Schilling). Thinking that she's his lucky angel, he goes out to look for her. When he found her, he didn't know how to put the truth out, so he kept it from her as they fell in love. Things start to unravel from then on... as you know, secrets are never healthy in any relationship.

The first thing that struck me as I watched the film was how young Zac Efron looked beside Taylor Schilling. He looked like her younger brother who just grew out of his pubescent years and got himself a beard. He stil looks good after his High School years.

It was a well-crafted story with well-planned scenes. The acting was believable enough, but I didn't feel it, as I felt The NoteBook and Dear John. The extra something that moved heaven and earth just wasn't there. But it was a heart-warming film.
